Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Own and deliver performance marketing activity across paid search, paid social, display, programmatic and other relevant digital acquisition channels.
  • Manage campaign setup, targeting, budgets, bidding, conversion tracking, optimisation and performance reporting.
  • Optimise marketing spend against commercial measures including cost per acquisition, cost per lead, conversion rate and return on advertising spend.
  • Use performance data to adjust budgets, audiences and activity through a structured test-and-learn approach.
  • Oversee the day-to-day performance and optimisation of consumer websites and other key digital customer journeys.
  • Lead conversion-rate optimisation across landing pages, online purchasing journeys, forms and digital funnels.
  • Use A/B testing, experimentation and behavioural insight to identify and deliver measurable improvements.
  • Work with commercial and customer teams to activate propositions, offers and lifecycle priorities through digital channels.
  • Define the creative assets, copy and landing-page requirements needed to maximise campaign performance.
  • Partner with data teams to establish reliable, automated reporting and performance dashboards.
  • Analyse campaign, website and customer journey data to identify underperformance, friction and opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage SEO strategy and optimisation activity to improve organic visibility, content discoverability and search performance.
  • Develop practical Answer Engine Optimisation and Generative Engine Optimisation approaches alongside traditional SEO.
  • Use AI-enabled tools to support research, analysis, reporting, content variation and optimisation.
  • Develop repeatable AI-enabled workflows that improve efficiency and bring appropriate activity in-house.
  • Manage relationships with agencies and specialist partners, including briefing, performance review and value-for-money assessment.
  • Work with technology teams and external specialists to prioritise, test and optimise website, ecommerce, webform and tracking developments.
  • Support online sales performance across product launches, purchasing journeys and digital self-service channels.
  • Monitor developments in digital advertising, privacy, tracking, AI-powered search and customer behaviour.
  • Maintain brand, legal, data protection, accessibility, security and regulatory standards across digital activity.
  • Support the identification and response to security issues affecting digital marketing systems and assets.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on performance marketing experience, including managing and optimising paid digital campaigns across platforms such as Google Ads and Meta. They will be confident managing budgets against commercial measures such as CPA, CAC, conversion rate and ROAS, with experience across website optimisation, digital customer journeys, conversion tracking, analytics and SEO. Commercially minded and highly analytical, they will be able to turn performance data into clear actions and measurable improvements. Strong stakeholder and agency management skills are essential, ideally with experience bringing digital activity in-house, while exposure to ecommerce, A/B testing, AEO, GEO, CRM platforms and AI-enabled marketing tools would be advantageous.
