Credit & Lending Services Legal Officer

Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:

• Supporting the legal risk function on the completion of lending transactions.
• Drafting and finalising facility documentation for new loans, renewals, and extensions.
• Managing the loan lifecycle from documentation through to drawdown and post-completion actions.
• Maintaining accurate loan and security records in accordance with internal procedures.
• Liaising with relationship managers, clients, solicitors, and external counsel.
• Ensuring compliance with internal processes and credit appetite limits.
• Reviewing and checking documentation drafted by other team members.
• Contributing to internal process improvement projects and supporting adoption of new systems.
• Maintaining up-to-date records in banking systems and preparing client care correspondence.
• Participating in departmental initiatives and supporting other team members as needed.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience as a paralegal, legal assistant, or within a credit operations environment. Exposure to property transactions or banking and finance is highly desirable. Strong attention to detail, organisation, and a client-centric approach are essential, as is the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a proactive, solutions-focused attitude are key to success in this role.
