Our client, a well established Insurance company, is seeking to recruit a Claims Handler to join their team, to contribute to the efficient handling of all personal and commercial insurance claims.

Responsibilities

Ensuring that you understand the strategy, philosophy and values of the company.
Following the customer service guidelines and achieving all business objectives whilst providing a high quality service for both internal and external customers.
Developing effective business relationships internally and externally.
Maintaining effective communication with colleagues and customers to maximise business performance ensuring that such communication is delivered through use of the most appropriate method.
Providing high quality advice in line with the Islands business strategy, claims handling policies, procedures and customer service guidelines.
Supporting the Director/Claims Manager in the achievement of the Islands business objectives.
Providing on the job training and coaching for colleagues.
Making a positive contribution to the effectiveness of the Claims team by suggesting ways in which work systems and processes can be altered and improved.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have Maths and English GCSE (minimum grade C) and have claims handling or insurance experience. Preferably candidates will have or will be working towards their Cert CII qualification. The successful applicant will have a general knowledge and understanding of insurance claims theory and practice, as well as current general insurance market in relation to claims and an understanding of claims negotiation. The role will suit a customer focussed team player who is comfortable in a busy environment, has excellent communication skills and is able to work in a reactive environment.
