This senior role sits at the forefront of financial crime supervision, overseeing event-driven regulatory activities and helping ensure firms effectively manage AML, CFT, and proliferation financing risks. The position offers significant responsibility, stakeholder engagement and influence across the financial services sector.
Location
Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Leading event-driven supervisory activities across regulated firms.
- Reviewing and assessing risk mitigation programmes and supervisory responses.
- Supporting licence, product and exemption applications from an AML/CFT/CPF perspective.
- Leading ad hoc inspections and investigations where required.
- Identifying emerging supervisory themes and financial crime risks.
- Supporting policy development and regulatory change initiatives.
- Managing regulatory cases and supporting enforcement referrals where necessary.
- Producing management information and supervisory reporting.
- Leading and developing team members.
- Delivering industry training, workshops and presentations.
- Representing the organisation with regulators, industry bodies and stakeholders.
Skills / Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience within financial crime, compliance, regulation, risk management or supervisory environments and possess a strong working knowledge of AML/CFT/CPF legislation and guidance. Previous management experience, strong communication skills and the ability to make pragmatic, risk-based decisions are essential. Candidates should be comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and representing the organisation both locally and internationally.
