Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing regulated financial advice to both new and existing clients across pensions, investments, savings, and protection.
  • Conducting in-depth fact-finding meetings, writing financial planning reports, and presenting recommendations in a clear, client-focused manner.
  • Maintaining a schedule of regular client reviews and ensuring timely follow-up actions.
  • Working collaboratively with the administration team to ensure accurate preparation and follow-up of reviews and suitability reports.
  • Monitoring and managing the department's performance, including the preparation of quarterly board reports.
  • Overseeing and guiding administration staff, ensuring internal procedures remain up to date and fit for purpose.
  • Reviewing investment platforms and providers and contributing to the internal investment committee.
  • Supporting business development activities, including asking for referrals, following up marketing campaigns, and identifying new planning opportunities.
  • Maintaining all CPD and professional qualifications in line with industry standards.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will hold a Level 4 qualification in financial planning, which is essential for this role. Candidates should ideally be qualified through the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) to Level 4 and hold the DipPFS designation (Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning), or alternatively, hold the DipFA qualification awarded by the London Institute of Banking & Finance (LIBF). Other Level 4 qualifications may be considered, provided they meet regulatory requirements for delivering financial advice. Substantial experience in advising clients on pensions, investments, and financial protection is expected. A proactive, relationship-led approach and the ability to communicate complex information in a clear, reassuring manner are essential. Strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work both independently and within a team environment will ensure success in this role.
