Our client, one of the Channel Islands' leading accounting, tax and business advisory firms, is seeking to recruit a Tax Associate.

Assists in the preparation of personal, trust and company tax returns for local and UK entities, corresponding by letter, email and telephone.
Ensure the accurate and timely preparation of documents to meet deadlines, ensuring the file is completed to a high standard before submission for review, highlighting any issues.
Develop an understanding of the firm’s products and services and the client base to ensure client retention and growth.
Assist with the preparation of supporting schedules by analysing backing documentation in a complete and thorough manner.
Responsible for the checking of assessments, statements of account and surcharge notices for accuracy and highlighting any anomalies.
Liaise with authorities regarding tax and social security queries and responding in an efficient and timely manner.
Develop knowledge over time and increasing confidence to deal with issues that are more complex.
Act as an ambassador of the firm, building relationships and promoting the firm at every opportunity to facilitate new business opportunities.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be educated to Graduate Level with a minimum 2:1 or equivalent, whilst also holding a minimum of 1 years’ experience in a relevant position. The candidate will possess strong IT abilities and excellent organisation and communication skills, coupled with solid time management. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to display initiative and lateral thinking coupled with the ability to solve routine problems and analyse data from a variety of different sources. Candidates will also display the ability to work in a team as well as independently, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines. This role will suit a motivated, meticulous and proactive team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
