Our client, one of the Channel Islands' leading accounting, tax and business advisory firms, is seeking to recruit a People and Culture Officer.

Responsible for the recruitment and selection process and the on-boarding of new staff.
Developing methods to increase our profile as an employer in the Channel Islands.
Organising and attending careers events and organising Company recruitment events and open days.
Preparing job specifications, job descriptions and advertisements.
Applying for work permits, housing licences and employment licences.
Sourcing suitable candidates via the advertising of positions internally and externally with recruitment agencies, the media, government websites and social networks.
Developing relationships and on-going liaison with local/national agencies and government bodies to facilitate cost effective recruitment of staff at all levels.
Undertaking pre-screening of applicants prior to CVs’ being forwarded to recruiting managers and advising successful and unsuccessful applicants.
Maintaining recruitment related records and documentation.
Arranging interviews and other assessments.
Managing and administering the on-boarding process.
Assessing candidates’ suitability for available roles via interview and other assessment methods.
Ensuring recruitment is undertaken in line with budget.
Issuing offers to successful candidates and declining unsuccessful applicants.
Preparing offer packs, employment contracts and associated documentation.
Undertaking pre-screening of new recruits.
Liaising with new recruits to answer any pre-employment queries.
Managing the induction process and assisting new employees to quickly and effectively settle into the organisation (including 1st morning HR induction).
Responsible for undertaking and assisting with generalist HR related responsibilities including benefits schemes, learning and development, performance management, employee relations, compensation and bonus reward reviews and leaver processes.
Providing general advice to staff on contractual terms and HR policies, procedures and benefit schemes.
Developing and maintaining close links with staff at all levels, providing support as necessary.
Maintaining accurate and up to date electronic and paper HR records (including absence records).
Providing management information and reports as required.
Travelling to Jersey, as required.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be educated to an A Level standard or equivalent, with good English and Maths. Candidates will possess a minimum of 2 years’ experience in Human Resources and Recruitment and hold a relevant professional qualification such REC or CIPD at Level 3. Candidates will demonstrate solid IT abilities, strong organisation and communication skills, both written and verbal. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to effectively manage time, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines, whilst working within a team as well as independently. This role will suit a highly motivated, proactive and meticulous team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
