Our client, a market leader in offshore legal advice, is seeking to recruit Head of Learning for their HR Team.


Guernsey, Channel Islands


Designing and delivering the ADVANCE Business Skills programme across all areas of the firm.
Continuing to develop and evolve this programme to provide support in additional areas identified through an ongoing skills gap analysis.
Working with the Chief Human Resources Officer on a variety of strategic Learning priorities.
Collaborating with the HR Business partners in the development of talent and performance management solutions.
Designing and developing bespoke Learning interventions to meet the ongoing needs of the firm.
Leading the continuous improvement of the induction programme for new joiners to deliver effective training and integration of new starters.
Responsibility for the management and development of the Learning team including day to day supervision of the Learning Manager and Learning Officer.
Managing the cyclical training calendar relating to; induction training, appraisal training, personal development skills training, and management development.
Assisting in the periodic review of the training offered and agree on-going prioritisation.
Evaluating programmes post-delivery, reporting on training delivered and providing ROI analysis based on defined objectives and desired outcomes.
Managing the global Learning budget to ensure that this delivers value for money and we remain within the budget parameters.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be educated to minimum A Level standard or equivalent, with good English and Math. Candidates will possess previous experience and a track record in the successful delivery of training initiatives across multiple business functions and locations as well as a certificate in training practice (CIPD) qualification or equivalent. The candidate will have experience of leading a learning team and experience of working in a law firm or professional services firm as well as experience in identifying and deploying online training tools. The candidate will be reliable and punctual and be able to work unsupervised in addition to solid IT abilities, strong organisation and communication skills, both written and verbal. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to effectively manage time, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines, whilst working within a team as well as independently. This role will suit a highly motivated, proactive and meticulous team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
