Our client can offer a great opportunity to a Financial Controller with a commercial sector background.

Responsibilities

Supervise the Trainee Management Accountant, Senior Finance Administrator and Finance Administrator.
Conduct staff appraisals.
Identify training needs.
Prepare quarterly VAT/GST returns.
Produce Monthly Management Accounts such as Fixed Assets, Debtors, Creditors, Cash and Bank Accounts, Suspense Accounts, Profit Tracker, Budget v Actual and Variance reports.
Prepare year-end financial statements and audit.
Oversee stock count.
Coordinate the year-end audit.
Review Annual Tax return.
Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors.
Report risk issues and other irregularities to the Board.
Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations.
Review all business contracts to assess implications on financial accounts and cash flow forecasts.
Supervise and review of the payroll function.
Identify areas within the business that pose a risk to financial control and to ensure assets are safeguarded.
Liaise with external Company Secretary.
Carry out Annual Returns.
Complete Air Passenger Duty calculation and payment and reconcile to the calculations.
Run fx and depreciation in NAV
Process recurrent monthly journals.
Produce monthly accounts working papers file.
Input monthly fx and fuel prices to the budget.
Complete, review and distribute departmental Variance reports.
Monthly meetings with cost centre heads and detailed analysis of variances
Petty cash processing for Head office, Operations and Engineering departments.
Input of monthly expense journals.
Staff travel processing.
GDS Reallocation.
Suspense and Unanalysed income reconciliation
Process and conduct a detailed review of the Management accounts and additional budget v actual and variance reports
Input of PAX capacity and volume details from monthly flash report to profit tracker
Compensation and inflight sales reconciliation
Reconciliation of Flash report to management accounts
Addition of new N/L codes where appropriate to management accounts reports

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be educated to minimum A Level standard, with good English and Math. Candidates will possess considerable experience in similar role and hold a relevant professional qualification. Candidates will demonstrate a range of experience and knowledge in the general administration and control risk and financial stewardship, in addition to solid IT abilities, strong organisation and communication skills, both written and verbal. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to effectively manage time, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines, whilst working within a team as well as independently. This role will suit a highly motivated, proactive and meticulous team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
