Our client, a firm providing a broad range of risk, retirement and health solutions, is seeking to recruit a Financial Account Manager.

Responsibilities

Duties will include, but will not be limited to:

Acting as first point of contact for clients in connection to accounting and investment matters.
Liaising with clients to understand their reporting requirements and ensuring that all deadlines are met across the team.
Presenting the accounting and investment items at Board Meetings.
Reviewing and interpreting contractual documentation to determine the appropriate accounting treatment.
Holding responsibility for the preparation of board papers to a very high standard.
Working closely with the underwriters and Director to share information and deal with any issues.
Reviewing management accounts, trial balances, statutory accounts and all other reporting requirements.
Providing training and assistance to account preparers to ensure no errors in the final accounts.
Holding responsibility for the delivery of a high quality service.
Reviewing payments and receipts.
Monitoring cash, fixed deposit, Letter of Credit and Trust Account levels and reconciliation of bank statements and ensuring bank mandates, investment guidelines and board requirements are followed.
Reviewing investment reports and analysis, including controlling and reconciling investment management purchase and sale contract notes, portfolios and calculation of capital gains and losses.
Assisting with reviewing all claims and reconciliation of claims bordereaux.
Holding responsibility for the year end audit.
Maintaining Statutory records.
Holding responsibility for all regulatory matters, corresponding with the GFSC and completing annual insurance returns.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a financial environment and will be a qualified accountant. Applicants will have knowledge of the insurance industry, including products, regulations and developments with a comprehensive working and technical knowledge of accountancy. The successful candidate will demonstrate solid IT skills and experience posting to a general ledger system, good knowledge of company secretarial matters and a high degree of confidentiality. The role will suit a self-motivated team player, with high attention to detail and experience providing training and excellent leadership, supervisory and presentation skills.
