Application Support Analyst

Our client a large group with an international presence and wide-ranging expertise, specialising in life-insurance-based wealth management and employee benefit solutions to a global audience, is seeking to recruit an Application Support Analyst for the Information Systems Department.


Guernsey, Channel Islands


Provide leadership in undertaking analysis and system testing of the organisations computer systems and applications.
Analyse the causes of minor bugs, through to defining the requirements for changes to business critical applications resulting from these bugs.
Ensure that system testing is carried out on a range of developments, from minor fixes on in house developed systems, through to full system testing of new business critical software supplied by 3rd party software houses.
Maximise the output of the team and make most effective use of the resources available.
Manage agreed tasks and sub projects, to enable business priorities to be met and to help ensure the planned business growth of the organisation.
Receive and log support calls and issues.
Analyse problems, including root cause analysis.
Communicate with other system support teams.
Define possible solutions / rectification.
Liaise with 3rd party suppliers for system changes.
Carry out the administration and development of SharePoint and MS Dynamics CRM.
Provide support / input for strategic decision to enable the continuous enhancement of the systems.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a professional background in a comparable role, preferably in the Finance sector, with Production Support/Development and SharePoint administration / development experience, or similar. Preference will be given to candidates who also have experience of SQL, structured testing and / or Unit-linked product knowledge, although this is not essential. It would be highly advantageous to have an appreciation of complimentary disciplines, such as CRM tools and database administration. Applicants will demonstrate excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, along with the willingness and ability to adapt new technologies. The successful candidate will have outstanding communication skills both written and verbal, coupled by strong customer service skills and a focus on the delivery of quality service.
