If you're enthusiastic, approachable and enjoy a varied day, this role offers the chance to support a busy retail team and work independently in the shop. Our client is seeking a a reliable Shop Assistant to provide excellent customer service and temporary cover until 6 December 2025, with potential for ongoing hours beyond December!
Location
Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting customers with product selection and purchases.
- Keeping shelves fully stocked and attractively displayed.
- Maintaining a clean and tidy shop environment.
- Ensuring adequate till float when covering supervisor duties.
- Putting away delivered stock and organising storage areas.
- Ensuring shelves and shop floor remain clean and well presented.
- Reporting issues, discrepancies or pricing errors.
- Cashing up and securing the store at the end of the day when required.
Skills / Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be reliable, well-presented and confident when speaking with customers. They will be friendly, empathetic and able to work both independently and as part of a team. A customer-focused, sales-aware approach is essential, along with the ability to operate a till and handle payments accurately. Previous retail experience or an interest in health and nutrition would be beneficial.
