Guernsey, Channel Islands


Duties for this placement will include, but will not be limited to:

Preparing financial statements for fund structures in an efficient and timely manner and in accordance with accepted accounting and auditing standards and internal policies and procedures.
Liaising with auditors ensuring that financial statements are finalised and distributed within the required deadlines.
Performing a period review and/or audit of the information provided and review financial statements, ensuring that they have been prepared in accordance with industry standards and the requirements of Guernsey Law.
Maintaining and enhancing relationships with existing clients and intermediaries and where necessary assisting with the on-boarding of new business.
Producing comprehensive accounting working papers for audit purposes.
Liaising with auditors and external service providers.
Presenting accounts at Board Meetings and discussing audit issues and findings.
Maintaining and developing expertise and providing advice to clients, demonstrating judgement and understanding of the business.
Assisting with the development and possible automation of processes and implementation of procedural changes necessary for continued growth of the team and enhancing operational efficiencies.
Providing information to directors and service providers on an ad hoc basis.
Assisting with the handling and resolving complex and unusual accounting problems.

Skills / Qualifications

A demonstrated sound knowledge of fund accounting, recording of financial transactions, preparation of financial statements and relevant regulatory requirements, with experience of or the desire to become experienced in consolidation and FRS 102, IFRS and US GAAP accounting standards and a proven track record of meeting client deadlines and delivering excellent client service, a long with excellent levels of accuracy and attention to detail, effective communication skills and the ability to work in a deadline driven environment whilst maintaining accuracy and focus are essential to the role.
