Our client, an independent provider of offshore fiduciary, fund services, as well as audit, assurance and taxation, is seeking to recruit a Tax Manager.

Responsibilities

Oversee the completion of UK Trust & Estate tax returns, UK non-resident company/corporation tax returns, Guernsey personal tax returns, Guernsey company tax returns and other returns as required.
Review, and sometimes prepare, tax certificates, rental statements and other computations when required.
Maintain client relationships to provide the service agreed.
Manage a portfolio of corporate and personal tax clients.
Assist other members of staff on a wide range of tax issues.
Prepare and review reports of all client tax payments and filing issues.
Correspond with the Guernsey Revenue Service and HM Revenue and Customs on routine and technical issues, and help to negotiate on contentious points.
Understand technical matters and present them in a comprehensible and practical way.
Prepare Board Reports for the Tax Director on a quarterly basis.
Keep up to date with all relevant current tax issues.
Liaise with other members of the organisation regarding new clients as appropriate.
Attend courses regarding tax updates and other training sessions as required.
Undertake ad-hoc tax assignments given by the Tax Director.
Advise the Board and relevant members of staff on matters arising from tax.
Deal with compliance issues as and when they arise.
Achieve target chargeable hours.
Understand cost control and oversee billing and debt collection.
Oversee and control notification of clients of June and December tax payments for Guernsey clients.
Oversee and control notification of clients of January and July tax payments for UK and international clients.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a tax related role and a supporting approach regarding management decisions. They will be highly accurate with a highly professional approach and will produce well presented work in an efficient manner. The successful candidate will be a proven communicator with effective organisation and planning skills and the ability to develop effective relationships at all levels. The role will suit a team player who is accurate with high attention to detail, with solid IT skills and the ability to work independently, use initiative meet deadlines when under pressure.
