Our client, one of the largest UK retail groups in the nutritional supplements market are seeking to recruit a Senior Web Developer.

Responsibilities


Lead and manage development work, on a variety of committed assignments.
Take a leading role in agile ceremonies including daily standups, sprint planning, sprint estimating, sprint demos and sprint retrospectives.
Learn and adopt dynamic practices in-line with Digital IT’s methodology.
Design and create the most effective implementation patterns in full-stack development, together with the structures in the Content Management System.
Design and create efficient interfaces with the e-commerce framework, including Sitecore, as well as other 3rd party systems and frameworks.
Work as part of a cross-functional digital marketing team, with a focus on delivering ‘best in class’ digital solutions for customers.
Maintain and administer all aspects of the websites and related systems.
Carry out quality assurance including unit, system (functional and non-functional testing), User Acceptance Testing, performance, security and compliance testing.
Enhance and maintain knowledge of digital development technologies including front end coding, Sitecore CMS, 3rd party systems, security standard, PCI, Data Protection (DPA) and all other relevant areas of compliance.
Manage, coach and mentor other members of the Digital IT team.
Achieve committed scrum tasks through a development and release cycle.
Create a best in class environment and raising the bar in digital development quality.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong academic background and software engineering qualifications, such as BSc in Computer Science, or a related subject. Applicants will have prior experience of JavaScript, ASP.NET MVC, Agile Development (Scrum), Test Driven Development, HTML 5, CSS, along with knowledge of JS frameworks such as JQuery, NodeJS and AngularJS. It is also a prerequisite to have at least 2 years’ experience of web development within an e-commerce environment. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills both spoken and written, coupled with advanced logical problem solving skills. This role will suit a dynamic and adaptable leader, who demonstrates the ability to coach team members, learn new technologies and with a willingness to adopt agile ways of working.
