Would you like to lead a small Software Development team to design, develop and support the company’s computer software applications? Collect and collate user requirements for software changes and requests.
Analyse and discuss such requirements with a view to solving them.
Design, develop and test software solutions to solve selected requirements as agreed.
Prepare and release new software versions for Acceptance testing by the designated users.
Maintain proper versioning of the software by using the installed SCM system.
Provide technical software support to this and other office software as required.
Assist the Systems Administration team to upgrade desktop and server software as required.
Mentor and assist the junior developer with their development projects.
Write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
Contribute to technical discussions in the Software Development team.
Effectively present information and respond to queries from the board, management, users and clients, as required.
Attend regular team planning meetings to review current and future work.
Undertake any other ad hoc tasks deemed necessary.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will hold a university degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience. Applicants will need at least 3 years' experience of developing Object Orientated software in a team environment using a modern Software Development methodology, for subsequent pre-release unit, system and acceptance software testing. In addition to an understanding of Microservices architecture, the successful candidate will demonstrate in-depth knowledge of developing complex Windows Forms and intranet solutions in a multi-user networked environment using VB.NET, C#, JavaScript, NoSql databases and SQL stored-procedures/Entity Framework. Proven experience of software project management, configuration management, change control, release control with unit, integration and acceptance testing as well as the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of issues in the day-to-day support of the Company’s systems are essential to the position.
