Our client, a large and well regarded financial institution with an international network of clients, is seeking to recruit a Senior Fund Accountant.

Guernsey, Channel Islands

Responsibilities

Prepare and/or review of management, interim and audited accounts for all the section’s clients
Control and monitor the bookkeeping process and take ownership of client ledgers
Assist with planning of annual audits and liaise with clients to establish timetables for the receipt of valuations and advisers reports and other relevant information
Review work performed by members of the team and provide regular feedback and training
Oversee the preparation of carried interest and other calculations in accordance with the fund documentation
Ensure that the calculations and monitoring of capital adequacy of licensed entities is correct
May be required to act as a Signatory
Motivate and empower trainee accountants by building their capabilities.
Deputise if required during Line Manager Absences.
To provide cover to other sections in times of need.
Manage, train and develop junior team members
To assist with all aspects of general administration of clients.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess qualifications in one of the following; ACCA, ACA, CIMA, ICAEW or similar, with at least 2 years’ experience working with a financial institution, preferably within Private Equity. Applicants will demonstrate leaderships and supervisory skills to less experienced staff and the ability to reflect and review actions. The successful candidate will display a confident manner; have strong IT skills and a positive approach to problem solving. They will have the ability to communicate effectively both written and orally to clients and colleagues and possess personal qualities of integrity and discretion. The role will suit a strong team player, who is able to motivate the team, as well as work on their own initiative, with a flexible approach to work and good time management skills. They must think creatively and be committed to delivering outstanding client services and perform in a pressurised environment.
