Our client, a leading financial institution in Guernsey, is seeking a Senior Bank Auditor for their Internal Audit team. In performing financial, operational and management audits, this position assesses the adequacy of internal controls and ensures that all laws and regulations are observed.

Conduct and/or assist in specialised audits of the activities of the company, reviewing activities, recording and discussing findings.
Prepare individual audit work papers and records.
Compile written reports of results and findings of audits under direction.
Assist in following-up with concerned departments/subsidiaries to ensure that approved recommendations or remedial action has been taken, record summaries of actions and report delays as necessary.
Undertake peer reviews on the audits performed by other members of the audit function, in line with competencies.
Maintain assigned stakeholder relationships within business lines and jurisdictions.
Prepare or assist in the preparation of reporting to executive management and Board committees both at a jurisdictional and group level.
Offer contributions to the audit functions risk assessment and planning process.
Contribute to the continued development and promotion of the internal auditing function within the company.
Assist external auditors and other departments as required.
Offer assistance in fraud initiatives including investigations, providing statements to law enforcement, reporting as prescribed by legislation and appearing as a witness as necessary.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a university degree with professional accounting qualifications (CA/CPA/ACA/FCA) and at least 2 years' relevant post-qualification experience, preferably within Internal Audit from the Fiduciary and/or Trust environments. Applicants will be familiar with key regulatory and legislative requirements, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritise accordingly. In addition to good management, communication, mediation and consulting skills, the successful candidate will have high ethical standards and the ability to build trusting relationships. This role would suit a results oriented and customer service focused individual who can work independently as well as part of a team, is comfortable working towards strict deadlines, and able to travel as required.
