Our client, a locally owned and managed commercial business, is seeking to recruit a Senior Accountant.


Guernsey, Channel Islands


Assist with the transition from the existing accounting system Sage 200 to the new fully integrated, cloud operated software program Open Accounts.
Deliver accurate and timely management accounts for a variety of commercial entities across Guernsey, UK & USA.
Work with the existing Senior Accountant to develop and implement workflows to senior administrators across the group.
Assist with sales ledger reconciliations and settlement variance analysis.
Offer assistance with the purchase ledger process through the use of Open Accounts new OCR system following invoices from authorisation through to payment.
Assist with the monthly Intrastat reporting and VAT reporting across multiple UK & EU countries.
Offer support with management of the new B2B wholesaling company; issuing inter-company and third-party sales invoices, managing recharges and monitoring cash flow.
Complete and submit VAT and EC sales returns for companies as required.
Provide Company Secretarial assistance to the Financial Controller as required.
Maintain and develop existing processes to fulfil business requirements and objectives.
Assist with the year end audit.
Maintain excellent communication with all relevant stakeholders, including liaising with the Trading and Design teams on campaign management and promotional offers.
Undertake any other duties commensurate to the post as requested by the Line Manager or a Director.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will hold an ACCA/CIMA qualification or be qualified by relevant management accountant experience, and will have experience of working within a finance team in a commercial business environment with the ability to complete work within tight deadlines. In addition to Intermediate/Advanced Microsoft Excel and numeracy skills, applications will demonstrate strong communication skills to advise and influence across a range of key stakeholders at all levels of the business, with a proven ability to communicate financial matters with non-finance professionals. The successful candidate will be able to organise and prioritise workload, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail through all work streams and while not essential, any past experience of Open Accounts would be desirable.
