Private Equity Accounting Manager

Our client, a leader in global banking and financial services, is seeking to recruit a Private Equity Accounting Manager.

Responsibilities

Assist with drafting and reviewing of Service Level Agreements, incorporating measurable and meaningful KPIs.
Support the on-boarding deal team, with set-up and take-on process, of any new private equity business.
Assist in the preparation and agreeing accounting reporting templates.
Participate in the review of fund documentation and Business Acceptance Committee documentation, pertaining to the launch of new funds, providing comments as necessary.
Ensure the implementation of appropriate procedures in respect of any new business.
Oversee and be actively involved in the daily servicing of private equity fund clients and ensure that the fund is operating in line with the Service Level Agreement.
Supervise and control the accurate, efficient and timely delivery of all valuations, capital accounts, quarterly statements, annual financial statements and any other reports, together with supporting schedules and/or working paper in line with the fund documentation and accounting standards.
Oversee the reconciliation process for cash, stock, shares/units in issued and ensure that all breaks identified are cleared on a timely basis and in accordance with agreed KPI.
Prepare / review of performance fee, Internal Rate of Return and equalisation calculations as required by the fund documentation, or the financial reporting procedures of the fund.
Prepare / review drawdown, equalisation and distribution calculation in accordance with the fund documentation.
Be involved in the collection, payment of income, fees and expenses on a timely basis.
Assist in the completion of all relevant regulatory and tax information provision.
Liaise with internal and external auditors and manage the year end/interim audit process via a monitored timetable and audit requirement list.
Assist in the continuous review of existing business processes, procedures and checklists to maximise efficiency and productivity, whilst ensuring they meet regulatory and compliance requirements.
Execute group project opportunities relating to the implementation of new product accounting and operational procedures.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a recognised accountancy qualification such as ACCA/ ACA, with solid experience within the finance industry, specifically in Private Equity Fund Accounting preparation. It is essential to demonstrate excellent working knowledge of fund structures, fund cash flows and of the types of PE transactions. Applicants will also have an exceptional working knowledge of fund accounting practices and standards, particularly IFRS, UK GAAP and US GAAP. The successful candidate will carry experience in people management, with outstanding delegation and time management skills, to prioritise a high volume of time sensitive tasks appropriately. This role will suit an analytical problem solver, who displays a sharp awareness of commercial and risk management based client solutions.
