Our client, an international and highly regarded wealth management firm based in Guernsey, is seeking to recruit a part-qualified Accountant. The role will require the successful candidate to prepare and assist in the preparation and initial review of the financial statements of entities administered by the Private Equity department.

Duties will include, but will not be limited to:

Assisting with account preparation, including checking and maintaining ledger integrity, completing appropriate checklists, closing down of accounting periods, preparing accounts for manager review and clearing points, sending accounts for inclusion in board packs, providing information for US and UK tax returns, preparing standard account files and liaising with auditors as required.
Preparing and issuing ad-hoc reports to clients.
Holding an understanding of more complex transactions and cash management procedures for specific entities.
Checking bank account reconciliations and cash reports.
Holding an understanding of procedures of arranging reports for inclusion in board pack.
Designing pro forma accounts, ensuring they are in accordance with appropriate regulations and standards and agreed with clients and auditors.
Maintaining capital accounts for limited partnerships.
Liaising with other departments such as fund administration.
Maintaining client relationships with client, investors and other associated parties (based worldwide).
Dealing with investor queries in an efficient and timely manner.
Preparing and reviewing management fee calculations.
Calculating the call and distribution amounts for recommendation by client.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be Part- Qualified ACA or ACCA, however, applicants with at least 1 year of relevant experience seeking to undertake an accounting qualification will be considered. The successful candidate will have knowledge of regulatory issues, book-keeping and accounts preparation, with a familiarity of Guernsey Company Law. They will have intermediate Excel skills with knowledge of Macros and those with technical accounting knowledge or experience in Funds/Private Equity will be preferred. The role will suit a well organised individual with good time management and proven communication skills who can prioritise workloads in a pressurised environment.
