Our client, an independent global specialist in Trust, Corporate and Fund services, are seeking to recruit a Managing Director.

Deliver exceptional business performance whilst maintaining sound risk management and operational excellence delivering first class customer service; ensuring that relationships are sustained with large and complex clients and maximising sustainable profitability within the Guernsey office.
Provide leadership the office as well as perform direct line management responsibilities providing technical and performance management support to drive performance, engagement, motivation and development.
Undertake business development activity, identifying and converting potential opportunities for new/ existing clients and intermediaries.
Ensure that policy and procedure is complied with and that fiduciary, legal and regulatory obligations are met.
Demonstrate support and roll out for the strategy of the company’s business.
Monitor the free income, time recording and credit control information, ensuring targets are met.
Assume responsibility for the overall delivery of the annual budget for the Guernsey office, including income, costs, profitability and working capital management.
Ensure that all internal and external suppliers of business services perform effectively in line with agreed SLAs.
Attend meetings with clients and their advisers, both locally and other jurisdictions as necessary and provide a client contact point.
Assume directorship role of client’ companies and council member of client foundations as well as sit on and chair local Board meetings.
Conduct and present both within the firm and externally in a manner which is consistent with the company’s core values.
Ensure the highest financial and client are standards to ensure that business accords within the best practice in all procedures.
Maintain ongoing personal development in partnership with the business and meeting the associated CPD obligation.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be STEP/ICSA/ACCA/ACA qualified with extensive Channel Islands wealth planning, corporate and fund services experience, and significant expertise in technical trust, company, funds, taxation and fiduciary matters. Applicants will have an in-depth knowledge of legal obligations and compliance regulations and a full understanding of general regulatory principles, as well as a proven track record of managing an office and dealing with high net worth individuals and their advisors. Applicants will demonstrate strong leadership skills and the ability to manage, motivate and drive team members’ performance. The successful candidate will have excellent organisational skills and a creative but pragmatic approach to problem-solving, displaying a desire to challenge the status quo to drive efficiency and increase performance. This role will suit a self-motivated and disciplined individual who is able to build and develop relationships with a reputation for integrity, and with the ability to evoke trust and openness in clients, colleagues and intermediaries.
