Our client an expanding off shore law services provider, is seeking to recruit an HR Advisor.


Guernsey, Channel Islands


Maintain responsibility for the recruitment of all vacancies across all jurisdictions, from junior support staff through to Partner or Director Level.
Take the recruitment brief from line managers, put together job descriptions and advise on the recruitment process.
Provide weekly reports to the Remuneration Committee and submitting offer approval requests.
Write adverts and liaise with local media for vacancy adverts.
Manage recruitment agency relationships, briefing on new vacancies when necessary.
Interview candidates and organise interviews for other employees, advise on interview questions and technique where appropriate.
Draw up contracts and offer paperwork.
Work with a third party to carry our employee screening checks, escalating problems to the line manager or Strategy Board when required, and ensuring that screening is completed before the start date.
Manage the seamless administration of the new joiner process.
Ensure that signed offer paperwork is received, the employee is added to the HR systems, and other departments are provided with the information that they require.
Liaise with pension and healthcare providers, as well as set up the new joiner for payroll.
Provide relocation assistance when necessary.
Work with the new employee to apply for a work permit, ensuring the documentation is received and submitted to the relevant authority.
Welcome the new employee to the Guernsey office on their first day, providing a clear understanding of the induction process, a tour of the office, and introducing them to key members of staff.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have experience in a comparable role in the financial, professional services or preferably in the legal sector, with experience of handling casework such as disciplinary actions and grievances. Preference will be given to a CIPD member, although dynamic candidates qualified by experience will also be considered. Applicants will have experience managing payroll, ideally across multiple jurisdictions and the ability to handle a varied and heavy workload. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills and confidence in dealing with employees at all levels, in a professional and approachable manner. This role will suit a self-motivated team player, who is highly organised, accurate and remains calm under pressure.
