Group Head of Knowledge Management

Our client, a reputable leader in the legal sector, operating in various offshore locations, is seeking to recruit a Group Head of Knowledge Management, Pricing and Profitability.

Responsibilities

Build and lead a Knowledge Management team working across multiple jurisdictions.
Lead the project management of firm wide KM initiatives, including IT systems initiatives and commoditising processes and precedents.
Investigate, test and implement new systems that may enhance KM firm wide and across practice groups.
Establish precedents for all jurisdictions required for their local markets within the firm's KM system.
Assist with process mapping areas of work to enhance efficiency and profitability.
Commoditise processes and precedents and the knowledge management function, developing this as a client-facing service.
Review and develop new and existing precedents, standard forms and guidance notes, ensuring that these are kept up to date.
Assess existing work flow patterns for commercial work and help introduce legal project management work flows for various sets of transaction materials.
Keep the firm up to date with the latest developments in Jersey, Guernsey, Cayman, BVI and Singapore.
Ensure that fee earners are fully appraised of new legislation and laws.
Write bulletins for circulation to clients and contacts.
Coordinate, design and deliver training to all teams in relation to new laws, precedents and developments as required.
Undertake induction training for all new staff.
Train and develop the KM team.
Act as a Member of the Management Committee.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have experience at a senior level in a knowledge management function, within a law firm and will demonstrate an interest in and an understanding of how Information Technology can be used to drive forward knowledge management. It would be highly desirable to have offshore legal experience. Applicants will possess strong people management experience, along with a commercial outlook. The successful candidate will be a proactive and analytical individual, with good communication and interpersonal skills, who consistently promotes efficiency and client service excellence.
