Guernsey, Channel Islands


Duties will include, but will not be limited to:

Working proactively as data protection subject matter expert, promoting best practice maintaining and improving the Groups framework of data protection policies, processes and procedures.
Assessing data protection legislation or other regulatory changes that apply across the Group and making recommendations as necessary to ensure that risks are mitigated as well as ongoing compliance.
Providing support and assistance to any client related queries, issues and requests concerning data protection.
Informing and advising the Group in respect of its obligations under the data protection laws and regulations that apply within the jurisdictions in which the company operates.
Leading on the completion of Data Protection Impact Assessments and Legitimate Interest Balancing Exercises.
Providing specialist advice and recommendations across a range of data protection topics including individual rights requests, data breach
management and data sharing.
Creating and maintaining documentation that provides evidence of legal and regulatory compliance.
Leading on the delivery of a data protection training and awareness programme.
Conducting regular analyses of data and prepare reports relating to data protection compliance.
Leading on the development and implementation of data protection policies, processes and procedures, maintaining an appropriate review cycle and ensuring joined up working is taking place across teams.
Reviewing and implementing appropriate data processing agreements both internally within the Group and with external parties such as clients and suppliers.
Coordinating personal data breach response processes and associated reporting requirements.

Skills / Qualifications

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with high accuracy and attention to detail, along with effective analytical and organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and multi-task are essential to the role. Those with other qualifications in relation to risk management, information security or other compliance related qualifications would be preferred, but not essential.
