Fund Accounting Manager

Our client, a provider of multi-jurisdictional fund and fiduciary services, is seeking to recruit a Fund Accounting Manager.

Responsibilities

Prepare financial statements for all fund companies, limited partnerships and unit trusts.
Produce comprehensive accounting working papers for audit purposes.
Liaise effectively and professionally with auditors and external service providers.
Review financial statements and working papers.
Ensure that procedures are followed and completed with regard to the preparation and approval of financial statements.
Process any closing entries, to ensure that the accounting ledgers are accurately maintained.
Manage workflow to ensure that staff utilisation, targets are met and that all internal and regulatory requirements are adhered to.
Ensure that adequate cover is in place when required, ensuring that system and cross-training is carried out.
Participate in the new business opportunity process.
Develop expertise and provide advice to clients, demonstrating judgement and understanding of the business.
Maintain an up to date knowledge of industry and regulatory requirements.
Build and enhance relationships with existing clients and intermediaries, by ensuring a quality daily service for client portfolio.
Ensure that client SLA’s are met, legal/regulatory requirements are fulfilled, client risk and losses are mitigated and client deliverables are accurate and timely.
Handle and resolve complex or unusual operational and managerial problems.
Contribute to management meetings and to the enhancement and development of internal practices and procedures.
Undertake effective appraisals and objective setting.
Act as an A Signatory.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will hold a relevant professional accounting qualification, such as ACCA, or ACA, with a minimum of 3 years' relevant experience. It is essential to demonstrate sound knowledge of the fund industry, fund accounting, recording financial transactions, preparing financial statements, along with all relevant regulatory requirements (FRR, LRR rules and Form 142 returns). Applicants will exhibit good skills in planning, monitoring and delegating workloads, as well as reviewing administrators’ work. This role will suit a driven team leader, with a proven track record of client service excellence and strong communication, interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills. The successful candidate will be able to foster collaboration and teamwork in a professional manner, ensuring that goals are achieved within expected timescales.
