Our client a large banking organisation, offering private and offshore banking, as well as investment and asset management services, is seeking to recruit a Financial Controller.

Responsibilities

Responsibility for the Group reporting process to ensure it is completed accurately, in accordance with agreed Group policies and accounting standards, to allow production of consolidated group accounts.
Managing the internal management reporting process to ensure all reporting is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
Maintaining relationships with Finance colleagues in other Group locations and ensure all group requirements are understood and satisfied.
Preparing the Annual Statutory Accounts and Group Reporting at year end.
Overseeing the timely completion of monthly MI to aid management of business performance.
Handling the preparation of quarterly regulatory reporting for local regulators (GFSC, JFSC).
Ensuring that the reporting is complete, accurate, authorised and prepared on a timely basis.
Understanding the regulatory environment including the regulations, rules and guidance and their implications relevant to the job and to follow all applicable internal compliance considerations and appropriate processes, policies and procedures.
Completion of UK ALMM reports to allow consolidated UK reporting to PRA and completion of Fin Rep reporting and additional ACLO reporting as required by group.
Assisting with and managing the monitoring and control of Treasury Risks (counterparty, liquidity, capital adequacy, FX exposure, interest rate, settlement risks) on a daily basis.
Reviewing, analysing and reporting Treasury Income.
Ensuring all taxation reporting is completed accurately and within required deadlines and that tax payments are made within agreed deadlines.
Reviewing key Balance sheet reconciliations on a regular basis
Assisting the Head of Finance in ad-hoc financial projects.
Liaising with internal auditors, external auditors and tax advisors and ensure that required information and reports are available as necessary.
Approving supplier payments and employee expenses, ensuring that all requests for payments are correctly authorised in line with approved policies.
Day to day management of Finance team, providing training and advice as necessary.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be educated to minimum A Level standard or equivalent, with good English and Math. Candidates will ideally be a qualified accountant and hold a relevant professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA and one – three years PQE. The candidate will have a financial services background and experience of managing staff. The candidate will be reliable and punctual and be able to work unsupervised in addition to solid IT abilities, strong organisation and communication skills, both written and verbal. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to effectively manage time, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines, whilst working within a team as well as independently. This role will suit a highly motivated, proactive and meticulous team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
