Our client is seeking to recruit a Financial Account Manager.

Responsibilities

Act as the first point of contact for clients in connection to accounting and investment matters.
Review payments and receipts, monitor cash, fixed deposits, letter of credit and trust account levels and reconciliation of bank statements.
Liaise with clients to understand their reporting requirements and ensuring that all deadlines are met across the team.
Review and interpret contractual documentation to determine the appropriate accounting treatment.
Prepare board papers to a very high standard.
Hold responsibility for all regulatory matters, corresponding with the GFSC and completing annual insurance returns.
Work closely with the underwriters and director to share information and deal with any issues.
Lead and manage a team, including goal setting, providing training and conducting appraisals.
Oversee management accounts, trial balances, statutory accounts and all other reporting requirements.
Provide training and assistance to account preparers to ensure no errors in the final accounts.
Hold responsibility for the year end audit.
Review investment reports and analysis, including controlling and reconciling investment management purchase and sale contract notes, portfolios and calculation of capital gains and losses.
Oversee client filing to ensure all documentation is filed by the administrator appropriately and is easily retrievable.
Review of all claims and reconciliation of claims bordereaux.
Assist with the presentation of the accounting and investment items at board meetings.
Review and interpret contractual documentation to determine the appropriate accounting treatment.
Undertake maintenance of statutory records.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a financial environment and will be a qualified accountant. Applicants will have knowledge of the insurance industry, including products, regulations and developments with a comprehensive working and technical knowledge of accountancy. The successful candidate will demonstrate solid IT skills and experience posting to a general ledger system, good knowledge of company secretarial matters and a high degree of confidentiality. The role will suit a self-motivated team player, with high attention to detail and experience providing training and excellent leadership, supervisory and presentation skills.
