Our client, a leading global provider of risk management, insurance and reinsurance brokerage, as well as human resources solutions and outsourcing services, is seeking to recruit a Financial Account Manager.

Responsibilities

First point of contact for clients in connection to accounting and investment matters.
Liaising with clients to understand their reporting requirements and ensuring that all deadlines are met across the team.
Reviewing and interpreting contractual documentation to determine the appropriate accounting treatment.
Preparing board papers to a very high standard.
Working closely with the underwriters and Director to share information and deal with any issues.
Leading and managing a team including goal setting, providing training and conducting appraisals.
Reviewing management accounts, trial balances, statutory accounts and all other reporting requirements.
Providing training and assistance to account preparers to ensure no errors in the final accounts. Reviewing payments and receipts. Monitoring of cash, fixed deposit, Letter of Credit and Trust Account levels and reconciliation of bank statements. Ensuring bank mandates, investment guidelines and board requirements are followed.
Responsibility for the yearend audit.
Reviewing investment reports and analysis, including controlling and reconciling investment management purchase and sale contract notes, portfolios and calculation of capital gains and losses.
Responsible for the delivery of a high quality service.
Review of all claims and reconciliation of claims bordereaux.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a financial environment and will be a qualified accountant. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience with accounting software packages and knowledge of IFRS. Applicants will demonstrate solid IT skills and excellent communication and organisational skills. The successful candidate will have experience in coaching and presenting to varied audiences. This role will suit a proactive and motivated team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
