Our client, a leading global provider of risk management, insurance and reinsurance brokerage, is seeking to recruit an Executive Director, to manage Rated Reinsurance clients and all associated account activities.

Hold responsibility for staffing, salaries, bonuses and promotions.
Develop, implement and focus on strategic market issues and the development of the business.
Determine the Company budgets within guidelines and expectations, promoting the achievement of budget expectations.
Implement and control Money Laundering and Compliance controls.
Assume responsibility for client service excellence, ensuring that best practice is achieved and maintained.
Ensure that any specific client service management agreements, service level agreements and/or KPIs are managed and delivered effectively.
Manage projects, to ensure consistency of service and outputs.
Check that all figures and reports produced for the Rated Re clients are consistent and reconciled.
Ensure that presentations to the Directors, investors and other stakeholders are of a professional standard and meet client expectations.
Oversee project roll out and provide IT management support.
Hold regular joint professional practice and faculty meetings with representatives from Rated Reinsurance companies, being aware of competition regulations.
Liaise with staff on discrepancies between banking and reinsurance approaches, as well as data base reconciliations.
Assist with contractual, legal and regulatory documentation.
Act as CRO or Deputy CRO and ensure that all client regulatory and legal issues are complied with.
Lead, direct, develop and motivate staff toward the accomplishment of business goals, as well as the accomplishment of personal objectives.
Identify and develop ongoing training of colleagues, in order to enhance skills and achieve succession-planning objectives.
Ensure corporate good standing of the Company at all times.
Be aware of (re)insurance market developments and opportunities.
Ensure that Directors, or Associate Directors, are fulfilling all their Operational Executive responsibilities and job accountabilities by completing periodic reviews.
Apply consensus and cooperation and fully support the decisions of the Board.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level, or equivalent and will hold a relevant professional business qualification, such as ACA/ACCA or ACII/FCII. It is essential to have technical expertise in insurance, reinsurance, accounting, taxation and legal issues relating to (re)insurance, as well as deep market knowledge of the industry and familiarity with ILS investors. Applicants will possess significant experience of financial reporting, planning and control, within a reinsurance environment together with a working knowledge of operating systems and risk management platforms. It is also a prerequisite to demonstrate exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to articulate the business vision and create an engaged and high performing team. The successful candidate will be a good communicator with strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to influence and persuade effectively. This role will suit an enthusiastic, self-motivated and client focused team player, who has the ability to work well under high pressure, in order to meet deadlines, whilst applying high attention to detail.
