Contract Financial Crime Compliance Officer

Our client, an international and long standing financial services provider, is seeking to recruit a Contract Financial Crime Compliance Officer for a period of 3 to 6 months.




Provide assistance to the MLRO in their daily role and responsibilities.
Assist in the development, delivery, monitoring of action points arising out of the risk-based close, continuous, and compliance monitoring review program.
Provide support in relation to risk mitigation of higher risk, new and existing business.
Identify, research and advise on local legal and regulatory developments, providing business aware solutions where appropriate.
Support and assist in the investigation of significant financial crime events.
Provide advice to the business on all compliance related matters.
Produce compliance data / KRIs / FCR data for group, local and management reporting.
Maintain and review PEP / CEP / various compliance registers.
Engage with stakeholders, advising where necessary.
Seek opportunities for business expansion and more efficient operations.
Assist with regulatory on-site preparation and any remediation plans.
Promote compliance best practices and attend industry body updates such as GACO and GAT, reporting on emerging risks and trends.
Provide compliance related training as required and assist in the implementation of the overall compliance related training plan.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will preferably hold a relevant professional qualification and will have considerable experience in compliance within a fiduciary or banking environment to manager level. To have knowledge of business/fiduciary products and structures, financial crime, money laundering practices, regulatory policies and an understanding of Guernsey legislation is essential for this role. Applicants will demonstrate strong analytical, drafting and communication abilities and will be competent in Microsoft Office. This role will suit a driven and confident individual who acts with integrity at all times and is able to apply good judgement and an inquisitive approach to practice, procedures and specific transactions.
