Our client, a full service community bank and a provider of specialised international financial services, is seeking to recruit a Contract Assistant Finance Manager for a period of 6 months.

Prepare and oversee the production of financial and management reporting, regulatory reporting and planning requirements and provide on-going financial estimates of performance against plan for the company and institutional clients.
Produce, deliver and assist in the production of management accounts, group reporting packs, regulatory reports and supporting information, in accordance with the department and client timetable.
Obtain, discuss and update draft commentaries to monthly management accounts from or with department heads to ensure relevance and accuracy prior to publication.
Assist in the preparation of statutory financial statements and tax computations/returns on a company and consolidated level to enable submission to relevant advisors and authorities in line with stipulated deadlines.
Develop, implement and enhance procedures to deal with any known US GAAP requirements as required to resolve issues whilst operating within the SOX control environment
Prepare financial plans and budgets, and together with plans and budgets received from business line heads, assimilate information to provide a draft plan for senior management review.
Review the reconciliations of NOSTRO and impersonal accounts to ensure they are accurate, complete, properly authorized and outstanding items are cleared on a timely basis
Produce and review ad-hoc financial and regulatory analysis.
Collaborate with all departments to ensure financial risks and requirements are correctly identified and mitigated.
Interpret and apply new accounting and regulatory requirements impacting the company.
Manage a large number and variety of tasks whilst maintaining high professional standards in their completion.
Perform a wide range of investigations/ problem solving exercises, such as computer software errors, data errors, unusual balances requiring a degree of initiative and experience beyond basic report generation.
Utilise IT knowledge to streamline processes and resolve issues.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be ACCA, CAT or CIMA qualified with a minimum of 2 years PQE. Preference will be given to candidates who experience with accounting and banking systems such a BM+, T24 and 4Series coupled with an understanding of reporting under UK GAAP, US GAAP and IFRS. Applicants must possess knowledge of the GFSC Regulatory Reporting Requirements, SOX and Basel II, along with advanced IT skills, paying particular attention to Excel. This role will suit an organised and meticulous team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
