This is a great time to join this local company at a positive time of growth. Our client is seeking to recruit a Compliance Manager/MLRO/MLCO/Data Protection Officer.

Ensure the company and staff, complies with all regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Create, amend and implement policies and procedures to mitigate risk of the company breaking laws and regulations.
Lead internal audits.
Increase the effectiveness and efficiencies of the Compliance Team.
Assist in queries and assess knowledge gaps, whilst implementing training in order to fulfill such gaps.
Ensure all areas are adequately manned, paying particular attention to busy periods such as month end.
Conduct regular 1-2-1’s and team meetings to encourage ideas whilst providing regular feedback.
Ensure the Company complies with all relevant Island Laws and Directives from the Guernsey Financial Services Commission (GFSC) at all times.
Regularly monitor the GFSC website for updates, attend relevant seminars and conferences provided by the GFSC or other agencies.
Formulate and maintain a Company Procedures Manual.
Provide suitable anti-money laundering training for all staff members.
Update the Company’s AML and CFT procedure manual as required.
Act as the point of contact with the Financial Intelligence Service (FIS).
Maintain a log detailing any suspicious transactions.
Assist staff to assess clients risk ratings as and when required.
Develop and maintain audit processes which comply with the requirements of the GFSC.
Conduct, monitor, record and report the results of internal audits to the Board of Directors.
Identify any areas of non-compliance.
Liaise with and provide all required information to GFSC.
Manage customer complaints in accordance with the Company procedure manual.
Develop and monitor staff training/CPD and ensure appropriate training is in place.
Produce and issue to the Board a monthly report consisting of lost business, complaints, potential PI issues, audit results, training and GFSC matters.
Ensure that reputation status of Company is maintained at all times.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a managerial role or a willingness to undertake a professional managerial qualification such as CMI, with the ability to provide high impact performance feedback in order to aid business and personal development within the teams. An investigative background and the ability to undertake comprehensive audits and assimilate all data is essential to the role. The successful candidate will hold or be willing to work toward a relevant compliance qualification, Corporate Governance Qualification and AML/CFT qualifications. The role will suit a solution focused individual with a strong alliance of ethical behaviour who can recognise areas for improvement by undertaking measured risks and has an analytical ability to monitor and assess statistical data.
