Our client a recognised global quality leader in the trust and corporate services sector, is seeking to recruit a Compliance Advisor & Deputy MLRO.

Provide support and assistance to the Head of Legal and Compliance, as well as the compliance team to ensure compliance in accordance with the appropriate requirements.
Act as the Deputy MLRO and be fully aware of hr relevant obligations under the regulations, relevant enactments and handbooks.
Act as the MLRO for other Group Entities.
Deputise for the Head of Legal and Compliance/ MLRO and act with the same authority and in those circumstances be the principal point of contact for staff.
Maintain, execute and update the core compliance and monitoring systems or registers within the Group, including filing documentation appropriately.
Support the head of legal and Compliance/ MLRO in the implementation and maintenance of an effective compliance and anti-money laundering culture through the dissemination of appropriate information.
Field queries from the business and build on their knowledge over time.
Develop, evaluate and present anti money laundering, anti-terrorist financing sanctions and other relevant compliance training and awareness.
Provide compliance and financial crime support, advice and guidance to the business in order than all staff are able to comply with their regulatory responsibilities and adhere to internal policies and procedures.
Assist in ensuring that all regulatory notices are analysed and distributed as appropriate.
Research, obtain and provide information for any money laundering investigations or Court, regulatory and Tax Disclosure Orders where appropriate.
Provide guidance and assistance to the On boarding Team and undertake the final sign off of the regular sample Approved Introducer or Intermediary checks on demand to review or check for reasonableness and accuracy.
Carry out new take on and regular On-Site Approved Introducer or Intermediary recommendations to NBF.
Review and sign off new PEP, HPI and high risk clients, referring any concerns to the Head of Legal and Compliance.
Represent Compliance at internal meetings such as the Compliance and Onboarding Forum, New Business Forum, Risk Review Forum and Communications meetings.
Manage compliance projects that arise from time to time.
Work as an integral part of the compliance team with a good understanding of both Jersey and Guernsey regulatory environments and provide support as necessary.
Carry out ad hoc projects and tasks as required.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be educated to an A Level standard or equivalent with good English and Maths. Candidates will possess a minimum of 4 years’ experience in either Banking, Fund or Trust, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Compliance and Financial Crime. Candidates will hold a relevant professional qualification in Compliance. Candidates will demonstrate a range of experience and knowledge in Regulatory Environment, in addition to solid IT abilities, strong organisation and communication skills, both written and verbal. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to effectively manage time, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines, whilst working within a team as well as independently. This role will suit a highly motivated, proactive and meticulous team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
