Client Accountant (Funds)

Our client a well-established financial group, providing excellent quality and service to institutional and private clients, is seeking to recruit a Client Fund Accountant

Responsibilities

Support the client and internal accounting by producing and maintaining accounts.
Assist with the ownership and oversight of all client accounting processes and delivery of associated management information.
Take responsibility for the accounting function for a range of clients with a variety of business types.
Prepare and review statutory financial accounts and statements to the highest quality standards.
Manage the process for the audit of the statutory annual accounts for client structures.
Liaising with auditors as required in order to ensure that all appropriate IFRS or GAAP requirements are fully satisfied, auditing requirements are met and the audit exercise is successfully completed within the period allowed by regulation.
Carry out research to identify relevant sources and establish appropriate contacts in order to produce regular and up-to-date market valuations, for both quoted and unquoted investments.
Prepare ad hoc financial reports and statements as requested by other team members.
Manage daily bookkeeping and accounting activities in order to successfully meet the exacting deadlines and standards of service demanded by our client.
Liaise with the client and/or the client’s representatives to ensure that all financial accounts and statements are fully comprehensive, wholly accurate, and are provided in complete accordance with all stated client requirements.
Complete tax returns for structures for the UK and other jurisdictions within the regulatory deadlines, whilst maintaining high standards of both accuracy and presentation.
Provide support to the Trust, Corporate and Funds team and, where appropriate, to other colleagues in order to ensure the achievement of agreed objectives and targets at both corporate and individual levels.
Create and maintain full data, activity and time records, both computerised and manual in respect to all tasks assigned to the Accounting team.
Contribute to the development of new business processes, procedures and initiatives.
Identify and manage risk and take the appropriate action and escalation to include review of procedures.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role with a relevant accounting qualification, such as the ACCA or equivalent. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience within Financial Services. Applicants will have strong IT skills paying particular attention to Excel, along with excellent communication and organisational skills. Applicants will demonstrate a solid understanding of Financial Modelling, Performance Analysis, Commercial Acumen and Key Business Drivers. The successful candidate will display solid project management skills, accuracy and attention to detail coupled with innovation and flexibility. This role will suit a proactive and motivated team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
