Our client a privately owned group of retail companies based in the Channel Islands, is seeking to recruit a Category Manager.

Create an annual Category Marketing Plan to include new products, product development and campaigns.
Collate insights from market and industry reports.
Work with Central Marketing Services team to mine key consumer insights and develop a deep understanding of consumer needs to direct marketing communications strategy.
Conduct line by line review of current product performance, identifying category opportunities (product range gap analysis), inhibitors and risks.
Collaborate with internal functions (CRM, NPD, Communications, Digital, Marketing Services) to establish deliverables and schedules for the year
Liaise with the marketing teams to determine competitive pricing and promotional activities to drive category sales
Allocate, review and set budgets and revenue targets for the category
Ensure that all marketing departments and relevant stakeholders are properly engaged and consulted in the development of the category strategy and marketing plan.
Internal briefings to internal functions for both new products and existing
Internal communications business wide regarding any news or changes
Maintain the budget, ensuring it is up to date.
Develop and oversee the marketing schedule, ensuring that tactics are delivered on time, optimised and to budget.
Deliver quarterly updates to key internal stakeholders on the progress of the category’s commercial performance.
Working closely with the in-house digital marketing team to execute effective and efficient digital customer acquisition plans incorporating but not limited to PPC, SEO, display and paid social media.
Liaise with the digital marketing team and app development partners to ensure a programme of continued digital improvement with a focus on UX in-line with changing consumer needs/requirements.
Brief all creative aspects to our in-house design team and manage external design resource to deliver engaging creative in line with brand guidelines.
Work with brand marketing teams to ensure appropriate packaging and marketing designs.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be educated to Graduate Level, with good English and Math. Candidates will possess a minimum of 5 years’ experience and hold a relevant professional qualification in Marketing or Business. Candidates will demonstrate a range of experience and knowledge in E-Commerce and FMCG, in addition to solid IT abilities, strong organisation and communication skills, both written and verbal. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to effectively manage time, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines, whilst working within a team as well as independently. This role will suit a highly motivated, proactive and meticulous team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
