Business Development Manager

Our client, a specialist in tailored financial solutions, is seeking to recruit a Business Development Manager.




Support the activities of others responsible for developing business for the company.
Assisting the Managing Director with research and product development.
Prospect for potential new fiduciary clients comprising predominantly pension clients (group and personal schemes) together with Trust and Company clients.
Contact potential new introducers of business to promote services to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities.
Research and build relationships with new clients existing introducers/intermediaries.
Set up meetings between client decision makers and company’s practice leaders/principals.
Work with team to develop proposals, plans and pitches that speak to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives.
Participate in pricing the solution/service.
Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements and working through differences to a positive conclusion.
Present new products and services and enhance existing relationships.
Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs.
Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs.
Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.
Present and consult with mid and senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products, and distribution channels.
Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales.
Use knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.
Submit weekly progress reports and update relevant data into the company’s sales management system.
Forecast sales targets and ensure they are met by the team.
Track and record activity on accounts and assist to close deals to meet these targets.
Work with marketing staff to ensure that prerequisites, such as prequalification or getting on a vendor list are fulfilled.
Present business development training and mentoring to business developers and other internal staff.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have minimum 5 years’ experience in marketing and sales while either holding or be willing to study towards a relevant professional qualification. Applicants will have excellent communication and organisational techniques coupled with strong IT skills and be well versed in market knowledge, public speaking and sales planning. This role will suit a persuasive and professional team player with strong interpersonal skills with a proactive and detailed attitude.
