Responsibilities

Duties will include, but will not be limited to:

Leading proposal and bid processes for clients and prospects.
Providing leadership to the team responding to new business enquiries and allocating the appropriate staff to participate in initial calls.
Engaging in client conversations to understand and uncover needs and influence decision making.
Anticipating and ensuring all client needs are fully met by offering clients product and service solutions to grow.
Providing input to the company's strategic growth targets and developing strategies to deliver them.
Taking ownership for the preparation of the company's annual activity plan, managing campaigns, monitoring progress and reporting status updates to the Board of Directors.
Generating leads and new business opportunities for captive, ILS and commercial insurance company clients.
Collaborating with marketing and development leaders for captive, White Rock, ILS and commercial reinsurance business.
Developing strong relationships with global colleagues to increase their knowledge of solutions and to develop new business opportunities.
Establishing and developing relationships with local service providers, legal firms, bankers, accountants to increase the company's exposure and facilitating new business introductions.
Leading and chairing the business development committee.
Assisting colleagues with onboarding of new clients, designing structures, reviewing contractual agreements, developing procedures, and ensuring compliance with internal procedures and Guernsey Laws.
Providing capacity to existing client service team members to assist with ad hoc queries and projects.
Supporting the wider office and op-execs in client meetings and with projects.
Taking ownership for the business development sections of the procedures manual, identify risks and controls to mitigate them.
Attending and actively participating in Senior Management Team meetings.

Skills / Qualifications

Client focused, with excellent communication and leadership skills, and a sound technical knowledge, including a good understanding of all aspects of client administration, along with solid business development and client relationship skills and the ability to participate at board meeting level and work autonomously, as well as within a matrix are essential to the role.
