Our client, an international and highly reputable legal firm, is seeking to recruit a Senior Associate for their Corporate and Funds Departments.

Responsibilities

Provide sound, quality technical advice and guidance to clients.
Manage files with minimal Partner input.
Ensure that all team members record and bill their time, in accordance with policies and procedures.
Ensure that clients are fully informed, as to the fees and disbursements, that will be incurred on each matter and provide updates, as required.
Act as a significant point of contact, in the area of expertise, for a number of clients.
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of and be able to generate repeat business, from existing clients.
Manage the coaching and development of paralegals, trainees and new joiners.
Assist other team members, as and when required.
Act as mentor for trainees and associates.
Develop the highest standards of professional knowledge and ability.
Ensure that all matters are billed monthly and verify that fees are collected, within 60 days, of a bill being issued.
Prepare for and attend business development meetings.
Arrange and present training seminars, internally and externally.
Promote team work and strong relationships, with immediate team members, other teams across jurisdictions and Business Services, to achieve personal team and group objectives.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess an excellent academic background, including a 2:1 Law degree, plus a Commendation/Distinction at LPC, or equivalent; complimented by a minimum of 3 years' PQE. Applicants will be established and recognised by others in an area of expertise, with experience from a relevant law firm environment; ideally within a Magic/Silver Circle firm, or equivalent. It is essential that candidates also demonstrate good, consistent performance over the last two financial years. The successful candidate will have excellent drafting and written communication skills, with the ability to establish, build and maintain relationships with external contacts. This role will suit a proactive and positive team player, who is focused on business development and adapts easily to change.
