Our client is seeking to recruit an Assistant Vice President Private Equity Fund Accountant.


Guernsey, Channel Islands


Assist with the coaching, developing and training of staff.
Manage client engagements.
Maintain and control the general ledger and various sub-ledgers.
Prepare and review financial statements, footnotes, and partner capital statements.
Review capital activity that pertains to the funds including, capital calls, distributions, rebalances and transfers.
Manage and monitor the timing and quality of client deliverables.
Interact with senior management and manage overall relationships for multiple clients.
Provide technical accounting and industry knowledge to clients.
Establish plans for new client setup and transitions.
Prepare and review fee calculations including (but not limited to) management fees, admin fees, waterfall clawback, and carried interest calculations.
Coordinate with the operations group, financial statement group, tax group and the investor relations group.
Review private equity fund client’s partnership agreements, PPMs and other materials.
Assist with the Implementation of fund structures on accounting systems.
Prepare and review limited partner and general partner allocations.
Coordinate, manage, and monitor external audit processes.
Prepare and review trial balances and work paper products.
Offer support with ad hoc reports as needed.
Undertake any other functions required as part of the business of the company, and reporting to the managing director.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics, with 3-5 year's fund accounting experience and at least 2 years' experience managing a team of fund accountants, senior fund accountants and supervisors. Applicants will have knowledge of US GAAP, waterfall structures, modeling and calculations, as well as experience in reviewing and preparing general ledgers and financial statements. The successful candidate will have a good working knowledge of Excel and Word and will be an experienced user of the SunGard Investran PE accounting platform. They will have strong leadership skills and supervisory experience of other professionals. The role will suit an individual with high attention to detail, strong project management skills, the proven ability to multi-task and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
