Our client, a long-established wealth manager, is seeking to recruit an Assistant Compliance Specialist.

Guernsey, Channel Islands

Responsibilities

Undertaking the identification of money laundering risk and the documentation risk profile and risk management policies and procedures.
Overseeing compliance with local laws, regulations, internal policies and procedures and carrying out regular assessments of their adequacy in proportion to the risk, nature, scale and complexity of the business.
Ensuring that adequate arrangements are in place to assist with the provision of money laundering awareness and training.
Undertaking checks required as part of rolling annual compliance monitoring programmes including random checks of adherence to investment mandates and account opening documentation.
Undertaking transactions (including high risk) monitoring of account activity patterns for the purpose of detecting unusual and/or potentially suspicious transactions.
Overseeing monitoring transactions with non-equivalent jurisdictions.
Maintaining a regulatory change log.
Undertaking sanction and Worldchecks in T24 with regard to information received concerning persons convicted of criminal offences or persons on sanctions lists.
Overseeing reviews and monitoring of staff transactions.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role, with experience of a specialist are in the field(s) of Regulation, Compliance, Anti-Money Laundering and Risk and will hold an ICA qualification or be willing to undertake further study towards a professional qualification. The role will suit a trustworthy team player, who has a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suites, excellent communication, organisation and time management skills and the ability to prioritise effectively.
