Temps guide
Follow our advice, and the right assignment will be yours.
Registering
When you come to see us, the more you can bring with you the faster we can place you.
Bring with you your CV, Right to Work document, Police check and references and/or the
name and number of a referee. If you require a visa to work in the UK, you must bring
this with you as well.
What happens next?
Your personal consultant will discuss your skills and preferences, so that they can match
you with the right job. Current vacancies will then be checked for suitability.
When will I hear about job opportunities?
If there are not vacancies currently suitable, your consultant will continue to search and
contact you immediately they find one. It is also import that you keep in regular contact
so you are up to date on current opportunities.
Will you arrange an interview?
Some temporary assignments will require interviews with the client to assist with
suitability to the role, team and company.
Pay and Benefits
Excellent rates of pay
Temporary candidates will be paid an hourly rate based on the skills required for your
current assignment. Our working week is Monday to Friday and you will be paid one week

payslip will be posted to you each week and your money will be paid directly into your
bank account, clearing on Monday.
Timesheets are your responsibility and they must be in the office no later than 9.30am
Monday to be paid on the following Monday. If the timesheet is incorrect, incomplete
or unsigned, we may be unable to pay your wages.

General Assignments
Assignments
Assignments can be booked for a few hours to a few weeks in length and can be arranged
at a day or months notice. We cannot always guarantee work but if you keep in regular
contact, the chances of more bookings are greater.
Time keeping
Be on time. The start time we give you is the time you need to be ready for work, NOT
the arrival time. As a rule, always be 15 minutes early.
Getting there
We will give you directions to all your assignments but you should always carry our
telephone number, just in case.
Sickness
In the event that you are unable to attend work through sickness or other absence the
Tempjobs office should be contacted along with your employer before your scheduled
start time. This procedure must be followed for every day of absence. Any absence
period of over 5 days due to sickness must be accompanied by a relevant doctor's certificate.
Holidays
Please ensure that you give as much advance warning to both Tempjobs and your employer
of any holidays that you plan to take.
Our relationship
Only accept a job if you are available for work. If you do not turn up to your assignment
and you haven't let us know, then we will be unable to give you any further work.
We always need to know if you CANNOT make a booking AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. If you phone 30
minutes before the assignment is about to start this is TOO LATE.
If you are running late, then phone us. If you turn up late to an assignment and you
haven't informed us, you may well be turned away.
Enjoy yourselves
The most import part is that you have fun, enjoy yourself and work hard. If you have a
particular favourite place, let us know and we will see if we can help to keep you busy
and happy at work. If you are unhappy in a particular assignment then always come and
talk to us. Don't wait until the problem gets worse - we want to keep you happy.
